Original Dr. Seuss Painting at Chateau Belcastel now offered as a Fine Art Print on Canvas

Raising Money for the Arts

Dr Seuss created this original painting in 1962 and donated it as a charitable contribution. Now, in the same spirit, Animazing Gallery will host a benefit on February 4th and debut this wonderful limited edition lithograph on canvas, and auction one off for the SoHo Partnership, an organization in our neighborhood that does so much to help the poor and homeless get back up on their feet. 10% of your purchase will go to the Partnership.

The original painting is on display at Chateau Belcastel in France in an exhibition of published works from the 30's and original taxidermy sculpture. Artwork is accompanied with FREE ADMISSION to the chateau, a historical monument in a medieval village just an hour south of Paris. The voucher never expires, and the Dr Seuss exhibition is part of the permanent collection.

Artwork comes rolled in a tube or beautifully framed, like a masterpiece. Edition size 850. Shipping starts mid February. SPECIAL FREE SHIPPING in the USA.

Benefit cocktail reception

When Theodor Geisel, aka Dr Seuss donated a painting in 1963 as a charitable contribution, he could not possibly have known that in 2010 it would be hanging in a medieval castle in France, and that, to date, it would be his only painting on public display. Now, the philanthropy of one of the world's greatest illustrators will live on through this work of art.
A benefit cocktail reception on Thursday, February 4th from 6-9PM at Animazing Gallery in SoHo will debut a serigraph on canvas of this whimsical masterpiece, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit The SoHo Partnership. The gallery is located on the corner of Broome in SoHo, at 54 Greene Street. RSVP requested via (212)226-7374 or rsvp@animazing.com.

Jackson, MS - Jim Henson’s Fantastic Worldoffers a rare glimpse into the imagination and creative genius of the multi-talented innovator and creator of beloved characters like Kermit the Frog, Big Bird, and hundreds of others. From the beginning, the Mississippi-native expressed his ideas in incredible bursts of invention, through a variety of visual forms, clever dialogue, songs, comic bits, and animation. This exhibition presents original artwork, including drawings and cartoons, as well as other objects like puppets and movie props, all of which reveal the brilliant mind of their creator. On exhibition through 14 March, 2010.
